Biography: Dana Markos
A visionary of distinctive design, subtle interpretation and vivid imagination, Dana Markos is a consummate Event Stylist and Floral Expert who left ‘Corporate America’ 12 years ago to pursue his passion for flowers and life’s dream to establish a floral design studio.
Located in Ipswich and Boston, Massachusetts, Dana Markos Events focuses primarily on weddings and life’s celebrations. Voted this year by The Knot Magazine as the ‘2007 Best of Weddings Pick’, Dana provides a myriad of services related to not only providing the florals for the event but the entire styling and theming with strong attention to detail.
Dana’s commitment and dedication has translated into unique and distinctive design that has been showcased at many different events and venues across Greater Boston. His work has been featured in Art in Bloom, on Channel 2, in numerous magazines and newspapers across the state and country, including Modern Bride, Town & Country, and Boston Bride. Additionally, Dana and his team have designed weddings for celebrities from New York and California. Most recently his work was shown on TLC during a wedding story program.
Dana is a frequent lecturer for a variety of Garden Clubs and organizations. In addition, he can be seen on local access cable demonstrating floral design and styling to more than 1.5 million viewers, Together with one of his former designers, Dana co-authored a book released to bookstores in October 2003. Co-published by Laurel Glen Publishing and Rockport Publishing and available at all major outlets in the US and abroad, ‘Flowers for the Home’ is a step-by-step instructional guide to flower arranging and color harmony. Dana is currently composing his second book with an anticipated release in 2009.
